<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optic device which has high reflectance in bright display or low reflectance in dark display, and achieves high contrast ratio as a result.SOLUTION: The electro-optic device has a display area E, and a dummy area D provided around the display area E. A pixel electrode 15 is formed in the display area E, and a dummy electrode 15d is formed in the dummy area D. An area ratio (dummy electrode density) of the dummy electrode 15d in the dummy area D is smaller than an area ratio (pixel electrode density) of the pixel electrode 15 in the display area E. This low dummy electrode density reduces reflectance in the black display in the dummy area of a reflection electro-optic device driven in a normally black mode.</p> |
