PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material excellent in rate characteristics.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material is represented by LiNiCoMnO(where, x+y+z=1 is satisfied.), is a complex oxide satisfying the following conditions (1)-(3), and has a specific surface area of 4.5 m/g or more. (1) a ratio b of a lithium-rich phase in the complex oxide, the b being represented by b=3(z-x)/(x+2y+3z), satisfies 0.36≤b≤0.45. (2) 0.03≤y/x≤0.25 is satisfied. (3) a ratio a of Li relative to the sum of Ni, Co and Mn satisfies 2z+y-0.1≤a≤2z+y+0.1. |
