PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tread capable of improving workability, low fuel consumption properties, wet grip performance and abrasion resistance in a good balance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for a tread contains a rubber component, silica and a compound represented by the formula (1), and the rubber composition has a conjugated diene monomer unit, a monomer unit based on the formula (1), and a monomer unit based on the formula (2) and contains a conjugated diene polymer modified by a specific compound. In the formula (1), Vrepresents a hydrocarbyl group having polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond and Srepresents a substituted silyl group. In the formula (2), Vrepresents a hydrocarbyl group having polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond and Arepresents a substituted amino group or a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group. |
