摘要 The present invention relates to an anode material for a lithium ion battery using bundles of carbynes and, more specifically, to an anode material for a lithium ion battery using bundles of carbynes, which are endless chains of sp-binding carbon atoms with wide surface areas and can be used as an effective energy storage material. Using the first principle, the density functional calculation, it is confirmed that bundles of carbynes can be used as an anode material for a lithium ion battery with Li potential energy fitting the energy range in which a material can be used as an anode. The carbyne bundle compounds inserted in between the layers are C6Li12 showing the specific capacity of approximately 4468 mAh/g and the volume capacity of approximately 2213 mAh/cm^3, a level which is much better than graphite′s specific capacity of approximately 370 mAh/g and volume capacity of approximately 820 mAh/cm^3 and indicates that the bundles of carbynes can be provided as an anode material for a lithium battery.
