The mechanical seal arrangement (1) has a stationary seal ring (2) and a rotating seal ring (3). The seal rings each have opposing sliding surfaces, which are delimiting a sealing gap (5) between the seal rings. A heat transfer device is integrated in one of the seal rings and an annular recess (7) is formed in one of the seal rings. The wall portion of the recess is arranged with a defined three-dimensional structure. The defined three-dimensional structure in the recess comprises a projecting element.
