The gearbox has a housing (1) in which a shift rail (2) is arranged for controlling shift elements. The shift elements are formed such that a fixing screw is screwed into the shift rail to disable movement in a towing state along a traveling direction of the shift rail. An adjustable lining is screwed concentric to the fixing screw into housing opening and surrounds the fixing screw. The housing opening is closed with a closure i.e. plug (11), in an operating mode of the gearbox in which movement of the shift rail is free. An end stopper is formed by a head of the adjustable lining.
