<p>A method, apparatus and computer program are provided for controlling a communications state of an apparatus with respect to a serving cell in a communications network. The apparatus is configured with a first and second, different signal threshold, wherein the first and second signal thresholds are dependent on a reference signal 300. A value of a signal associated with at least one cell in the communications network is monitored 302. A timer is configured with a first operative state when the monitored signal value is determined to exceed the first signal threshold 304 and a second operative state when the monitored signal value is determined to be lower than the second signal threshold 306. Responsive to a value of the timer satisfying a predetermined time parameter, the communications state of the apparatus with respect to its serving cell is adjusted 308.</p> |
