The present invention relates to a motion recognition method and, more specifically, to a motion recognition method capable of determining an operating direction of a reflector by allowing a light emitting device to emit light and allowing a light receiving device to detect light reflected by the reflector so as to execute various functions of an electronic device according to motions of the reflector such as hands. The motion recognition method of the present invention comprises: a light detecting step for allowing the light receiving device to detect light reflected by the reflector and measuring intensity of the light; a first coordinate setting step for allowing a data processing unit to set planar coordinates (X1, Y1) of the reflector on a planar coordinate system, which uses the center of the light receiving range of the light receiving device as an origin, at a first position using the intensity of the light; a second coordinate setting step for allowing the data processing unit to set planar coordinates (X2, Y2) of the reflector on the planar coordinate system, which uses the center of the light receiving range of the light receiving device as an origin, at a second position using the intensity of the light; and a direction determining step for determining that the reflector moves in a direction of passing 1/2 point of an angle (θ) from the first position by calculating, using the data processing unit, the angle (θ) between a line connecting the origin and the planar coordinates (X1, Y1) at the first position and a line connecting the planar coordinates (X1, Y1) at the first position and the planar coordinates (X2, Y2) at the second position, when the reflector moves from the first position to the second position. |
