Disclosed are a method and device for restoring mattress pressure, wherein the method and device compensate pressure inside cells after identifying the absence of a user on a mattress. A method for restoring pressure inside a mattress to a predetermined pressure according to the present invention comprises: an identifying step (S2) of identifying whether or not pressure (P0) inside cells composing the mattress deviates from an allowable pressure range which is based on a predetermined pressure (P1), after setting the pressure inside the cells as the predetermined pressure (P1); existence determining steps (S3, S4) of determining whether or not a user exists on the mattress; and a restoring step (S5) of restoring the pressure inside the cells to within the allowable pressure range which is based on the predetermined pressure (P1) by filling the cells with a fluid only when the user is identified not to exist on the mattress in the existence determining steps (S3, S4).
