EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS METHOD AND TERMINAL

Provided are an emergency communications method and terminal, so as to solve the problems in the prior art that a dual-mode emergency communications terminal for satellite and terrestrial communicationss is large in volume and high in cost, and that the terrestrial mobile communications and the satellite communications are relatively independent and a communications mode cannot be selected intelligently. The method includes: generating an emergency message containing the location of a terminal; acquiring status information about an available network for the terminal, the available network containing a terrestrial mobile communications network and/or a satellite communications network; and according to the status information about the available network for the terminal and the degree of urgency of the emergency information, choosing and using the terrestrial mobile communications network or the satellite communications network, or choosing and using the terrestrial mobile communications network and the satellite communications network, to send the emergency message containing the location of the terminal. According to the status information about an available network for a terminal, one of a terrestrial mobile communications network or a satellite communications network is chosen and used intelligently to send an emergency message, or the terrestrial mobile communications network and the satellite communications network are both used to send the emergency message. The emergency communications terminal adopts an optimized satellite communications module, and is small in volume and low in cost.
