Carbonation system for cultivating microalgae in open reactors

The present invention relates to a system for carbonation (supplying CO 2 ) for cultivating microalgae in an open reactor, in particular of the mixed pond type (raceways or high rate algal pond, HRAP), comprising a flow channel in which the microalgae are cultivated and at least one pit without a deflecting partition wall located at the bottom of the channel, characterized in that the pit has a width equal to the width of the flow channel and a length consisting of approximately half to double the width of the channel; and in that the system comprises at least one gas injection device located at the base of the pit, adjacent to the wall opposing the inlet direction of the current of water at the base (bottom) of the pit, such that the top side of the device is spaced at a distance of between 0.5 and 1.5 m from the bottom of the flow channel. Also the subject matter of the present invention is the method for supplying CO 2 to the open-type reactor by means of the aforedescribed system and the different applications of said system.
