PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter capable of suppressing a switching loss. SOLUTION: In a power converter 140, a control circuit 172 repeatedly calculates the states of IGBT328 and 330 for every predetermined control cycle, and in accordance with the calculation result, generates the control signal for controlling conductive connection or interception of IGBT328 and 330 at a timing of alternating current output to be generated by a power switching circuit 144, for example, at a timing based on the phase of the alternating current voltage. When the relation between the states of IGBT328 and 330 in the control cycle calculated last time and the states of IGBT328 and 330 in the next control cycle calculated this time is a discontinuous relation, based on these states, controlling conductive connection or interception of IGBT328 and 330 is added and performed in the next control cycle.
