A fluid jet unit, whose working characteristics are comparable to those an electronic diode comprises two capillary tubes 1, 2 of length 1 1 , 1 2 respectively located coaxially at a distance L from each other. Fluid supplied to tube 1-at a pressure p 1 and quantity Q, enters the space of length L, is picked up by tube 2 and leaves the same having new parameters p 2 and Q 2 . If the input pressure p 1 remains below a critical value p 1 1 (see Fig. 2) then the flow in the region between the two tubes is purely laminar, whilst for values of p 1 greater than a second critical value p 1 <SP>11</SP> the flow is wholly turbulent. A gradual transition from laminar to turbulent takes place for input pressures between these two values, this transition phase being called the working region. Variations of the parameters I 1 , I 2 , d and L cause changes in the absolute value of the length and gradient of the transition region, as well as a displacement of this region in relation to the entry pressure. |
