The remote control unit (10) has a movable control element (18) that is rotated around a rotational axis with respect to base portion (12). An evaluation and control unit is set for generating a control signal according to position of control element. An output device is provided for outputting control signal to an associated camera. The evaluation and control unit is provided to control feedback device for generating a user perceivable feedback signal based on position of control element.
