1,165,219. Cleaning drawing rollers. F. X. ROSELE and A. M. MULLER [trading as UNIVEG G.m.b.H. & CO. K.G.]. 1 Nov., 1966 [2 Nov., 19,65; 9 May, 1966], No. 48940/66. Heading D1D. Drawing rolls 1, 2 of a roving frame or spinning m/c are contacted by a cleaning roll 5 which is covered by a material to which dust and fluff will adhere and mounted in a suction trough 11 whereby dust and fluff from the drawing rollers is sucked away and broken threads or rovings 14 are drawn into the suction duct. The cleaning roller covering may be roughened neat's leather or cow hide or cellular rubber. The cleaning roller may be driven by its contact with the drawing rolls; alternatively it may be driven at a greater or lesser surface speed so as to slide relative to the drawing roll surfaces and thus improve its cleaning action. A baffle 12 may be associated with trough 11 to guide broken threads or rovings to the suction trough. In Fig. 3 not shown a baffle (6) is provided in the suction slot to provide a narrow slot through which dust and fluff is drawn while below it holes are provided in the trough casing through which broken threads or rovings can be drawn. A resilient blade 9 is provided on the "inlet" side of the trough 11 to limit the size of the suction slot in this side. |
