A method and an apparatus for deblocking filtering are provided to enable a current image processing unit and/or a different image processing unit adjacent to the current image processing unit to perform the deblocking filtering in consideration of a case that a current image block is encoded using illumination compensation, thereby removing blocking artifacts generated newly by the illumination compensation. A method for deblocking filtering comprises the followings: comparing the difference value of illumination change of a current image processing unit with the difference value of illumination change of a different image processing unit adjacent to the current image processing unit to determine whether two difference values are different(410); setting filtering intensity so that BS(Boundary Strength) is equal to K1 to perform the deblocking filtering of a current block boundary if it is determined that the two difference values are different(420); and setting the filtering intensity so that Bs is equal to K2 to perform the deblocking filtering of the current block boundary if it is determined that the two difference values are not different(430). |
