[Also in Divisions E1-E2] A finishing strip comprises a sheet metal (stainless steel) or extruded plastics (P.V.C.) strip 10, having a groove ]8 through the base 19 of which nails 25 pass into a wall, the resiliency of the strip material allowing the mouth 22, 23 of the groove to be opened by e.g. a wedge while the nails are inserted. The strip may also be used as an architrave (Fig. 3) when the portion 17 below flange 16 is omitted and the corner between portion 11 and flange 16 rounded. The strip may also be used for covering the joints between panels in caravan roofs. In a second embodiment of the skirting the portions above the fastening devices is of arcuate section and protrudes less than the portion below. Skirting may carry cables or pipes. The strip may be extruded with the mouth of the groove sealed and the groove subsequently cut open, or the strip is extruded with the mouth open and subsequently bent to close the mouth. |
