PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for an exhaust gas, which has further superior performance and is produced by using an aluminum phosphate sintered body, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: (1) A catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas comprises: an aluminum phosphate sintered body; and at least one platinum group metal selected from the group consisting of Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt, and at least one base metal selected from the group consisting of Cu and Zn, which are carried on the sintered body. (2) A method for producing the catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas comprises a step of making the aluminum phosphate sintered body carry at least one platinum group metal selected from the group consisting of Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt, and at least one base metal selected from the group consisting of Cu and Zn. |
