PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strand bath by which a strand can be efficiently cooled and in which air bubbles are extremely unlikely to be formed inside the strand.SOLUTION: A strand bath 1 includes: a bottom panel 10a; a pair of side walls 10b, 10c and a pair of end walls 10d, 10e all provided in a standing manner with respect to the bottom panel 10a; and a main body 10 in which a coolant can be accumulated, the coolant allowing a strand S discharged from a die to be heat-exchanged to form a strand. The main body 10 includes a supply pipe 11 for the coolant on the end wall 10d side, and also a penetration hole 13 for the coolant to be discharged on the end wall 10e side. Release ports H for the coolant are provided on the side walls 10b, 10c respectively, and a linear distance from the bottom panel 10a to each of the pair of release ports H is set to less than 200 mm. |
