Disclosed are an active USB device and a switching method for the operating mode thereof. The switching method for the operating mode of a USB device comprises: connecting a USB device to a first host device, the USB device being in a composite device multiport mode; disconnecting the USB device from the first host device, the USB device maintaining an ON-state; and when it is detected that the USB device is disconnected from the first host device, the USB device switching from the composite device multiport mode to a single compact disk mode. The switching method for the operating mode of a USB device of the present invention can enable a USB device to be capable of installing a driver indiscriminately and completely in various complex application environments, improving the user experience. |
