The present invention relates to a buffering device for a steering column. The buffering device for a steering column includes an outer tube (100) in which a diameter changeable cutting groove (110), capable of changing the diameter of a predetermined length area on one side, is formed in the longitudinal direction and formed to have a larger diameter than two column tubes (10) forming the steering column (1) for a vehicle; an inner tube (200) inserted into the outer tube (100) by having the smaller diameter than the outer tube (100); and a friction control device (300) controlling a fictional force between the outer tube (100) and the inner tube (200) by being installed in the outer tube (100) and controlling a gap (E) of the diameter changeable cutting groove (110). The frictional force between the outer tube (100) and the inner tube (200) is controlled by controlling clamping torque of a friction controlling device (300) so that optimal collision properties required according to the kind of a vehicle and the properties of the vehicle are obtained. |
