The method involves obtaining a stainless steel reinforcing membrane, which is repeatedly dipped in a bitumen bath to obtain a bituminous membrane, where thickness of the bituminous membrane ranges between 2 and 3.5 mm. The bituminous membrane is applied on a portion of a surface to be protected of a masonry element of a building. The bituminous membrane is heated to permit a solder. Another masonry element of the building is positioned on the bituminous membrane so as to allow the integration of the bituminous membrane to the latter masonry element at a junction.
