PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque sensor with short overall length.SOLUTION: A torque sensor comprises: a coupling 17 that is fixed to a rotary shaft M1 of a motor M; a planetary gear mechanism 13 that is connected to the coupling 17 and is an example of a reduction gear; and a pipe-shaped distortion generating pipe 12 that is provided between the planetary gear mechanism 13 and the motor M and generates distortion according to torque added to an output shaft 13a. In the torque sensor, the distortion generating pipe 12 includes at least part of the rotary shaft M1 therein. Accordingly, since the motor M can be arranged at a position closer to the planetary gear mechanism 13 than before, the torque sensor 10 in the invention has advantage that a sensor case 16 and the torque sensor 10 have overall length shortened. |
