<p>A waterwheel of the present invention is provided with a rotating body (1) that has a rotating shaft (2) and rotates under a water flow, and an impeller suspension and support device composed of: an impeller (10) in which a plurality of blades (3L, 3R) sloped from the center to an end part in the width direction of the rotating body from the upstream side toward the downstream side is arranged in alternating fashion with a phase difference to the left and right sides so as to submerge below the water surface as the rotating body (1) pivots in accordance with the intensity of the water flow; and a suspension part (23) in which a support frame (21) erected so as to surround the impeller (10) is connected by a connection member (22) in the direction perpendicular to the water flow, both ends of the rotating shaft (2) being pivotably supported so that the impeller submerges below the water surface while pivoting in accordance with the intensity of the water flow, and the other end being pivotably provided to the support connection member (22). The waterwheel rotates while submerging in accordance with the intensity of water flow, and therefore rotates with high output by an increase in torque produced by submergence-induced stress and by an increase in rotational force produced by an increase in received water volume.</p> |
