Disclosed are a magnetic recording method and a magnetic recording device. The magnetic recording method comprises: acquiring a write bit density and the step size and speed of a step motor; calculating a step interval time according to the step size and speed of the step motor, wherein the step interval time is the time which is taken by the step motor to carry out one step; calculating a bit interval time according to the write bit density and the speed of the step motor, wherein the bit interval time is the time which is taken by a magnetic head to record one bit of binary write data; and controlling the step motor to drive a magnetic medium to move with the step interval time as a period, and controlling the magnetic head to write with the bit interval time as a period. The present invention improves the adjustment flexibility of a write bit density.
