Equipment for the prodn. of honeycomb structures has an extruder nozzle and a porous plate at one side of the inlet to the nozzle. The resistance of the plate to through flow can be varied at right angles to the direction of extrusion. In an embodiment cross-section of an extruding layout with a locked rectangular member (1) at the outlet (2), another member (4) inside with its own smaller opening (5), and the main nozzle (6) behind. A porous plate (10) is tapered i.e. with greater thickness at one end (10b); its perforations (18) are thus longer at the bottom (10a) where they provide greater resistance to flow. The result is that the emerging honeycomb material has a larger radius of curvature at one end than the other. ADVANTAGE - The equipment produces curved honeycomb structures. It does so with a very simple system. It readily corrects any curved shapes extruded when straight extrusions are required.
