PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for rotation control of a lifting post, along with an article storage device, capable of suppressing an effect of torsional deflection, even if a lifting post is elongated with extension of a storage unit with an increase or the like of the storage number, and thereby capable of quickly storing a conveyance article to a predetermined storage position.SOLUTION: An article storage device includes: a gate unit 2 for drawing an article therein; a storage unit 3; and a lifting unit 5 for conveying an article between the gate unit 2 and the storage unit 3. The lifting unit 5 comprises: a carrier 5a for placing the article; and a lifting post 8 for lifting the carrier 5a. The lifting post 8 is provided with an upper part pivoting drive unit 65 and a lower part pivoting drive unit 66. Either one pivoting drive unit of both pivoting drive units is precedingly driven in a rotating direction of the lifting post 8. Then, after both pivoting drive units are driven synchronized in the direction in which the lifting post 8 is to be rotated, the article storage device stops and stores the article, and after that, drives the precedingly driven pivoting drive unit is driven in a backward direction. |
