The present invention relates to novel bacteriophages specifically killing Pseudomonas tolaasii, a composition and a method for controlling brown blotch disease of mushroom using the same. The bacteriophage selected from the group consisting of Φ-6264(deposition number: KACC97018P), Φ-119(deposition number: KACC97016P), Φ-36(deposition number: KACC97012P), Φ-554(deposition number: KACC97017P), Φ-74(deposition number: KACC97015P), Φ-70(deposition number: KACC97014P), Φ-48(deposition number: KACC97013P), and Φ-69(deposition number: KACC97019P) has an ability to kill Pseudomonas tolaasii specifically, and the 8 species of bacteriophages are isolated from various kinds of Pseudomonas tolaasii mutants, sorted by host ranges, and then selected by toxicity against each mutant in a wide host range. The composition containing all the 8 species of bacteriophages has an effect in completely killing all kinds of bacteria causing brown blotch disease, thereby being useful as a composition for controlling plant diseases caused by Pseudomonas tolaasii. |
