Solar energy converter with tank for storing converted energy comprises at least one cell (1) for the passage of two at least spatially independent heat carriers, at least one of which may be liquid while the other may be a gas, and chambers (60-62, 12) which extend one above the other in the direction of incident sun rays so that they can be connected to identical or different intermediate tanks (14, 15). Pref. the cell contains a sealed bellows member which is fixed to an insulating base (3, 4) and which can take up positions at different heights according to the quantity of liquid flowing through it or the pressure of the liquid. Between an outer heating chamber for one heat carrier and the insulating base, a pipe system (60-62) for heating the other heat carrier may be fixed to the base.
