The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for delivering transmission features of multimedia data in a broadcast system. According to the present invention, feature information of multimedia data, which can be classified in a unit of media processing unit (MPU) or group of pictures (GOP), is generated in the unit of MPU or GOP, and the generated feature information is delivered by inserting into a MPU header. In this way, by utilizing the feature information for transmitting each unit of the media data in a small unit of time, more effective QoS control is possible in a context of changing a transmission environment dynamically with a mobile network.
