PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding machine capable of forming a grinding wheel using an index different from a circumferential speed ratio, highly accurately relative to that when a circumferential speed ratio is maintained constant, even when a diameter of the grinding wheel varies, and to provide a truing method.SOLUTION: When the grinding wheel 41 and a rotary truer 51 are rotated while a set cut-in speed f is applied thereto, an approach angle of a truer abrasive grain 51b relative to a grinding wheel abrasive grain 41b is defined as an abrasive grain approach angle &thetas;. A controlling part 60 performs a shape forming to the grinding wheel 41 while the abrasive grain approach angle &thetas; is controlled within a set range, in pre- and post-variation of the diameter Dw of the grinding wheel 41. |
