<p>A variable output speed system unit includes a rotatable input crank 1, having a controllable, movable pivot 2, the pivot engaging an arm 3, the arm holding one side of the one-way gears 4 another side of the one-way gears held by a fixed gear 6. When the crank rotates and the pivot 2 is moved towards or away from the cranks axis 7, the arm output rotation speed will change compared with the input crank speed. The pivot 2 is moved by a manual or automatic control system which may include a lever arm (19, fig 11) that moves a ring gear (20) along a recess (22) causing rotation of a control shaft 23 which, in turn, rotates pivot gear 26 that is engaged with and moves a straight pivot gear plate 26, thus altering a position of the pivot 2. The one-way gears 4 turn at least one gear which can rotate about an axis and may be an output drive.</p> |
