PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect twisting of a control cable and entanglement of the control cable with an apparatus in a hoistway which are caused when the control cable is severely swung by an earthquake or a strong wind.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a control cable abnormality detection device which detects abnormality of a control cable 5 installed between an elevator car 1 and a hoistway wall 9. In the control cable abnormality detection device, a torque sensor 10 for detecting torque and displacement of the control cable 5 which are generated by twisting and entanglement of the control cable 5 or a switch type abnormality detection part 15 is provided in at least one of both ends of the control cable 5. Thus, when the control cable is severely swung by an earthquake and a strong wind and the twisting and the entanglement of the control cable occurs, the control cable abnormality detection device detects the twisting and the entanglement of the control cable. Further, when the abnormality of the control cable is detected, the control cable abnormality detection device stops the operation of the elevator and transmits a control cable abnormality report to an abnormality check part. |
