The device (1) has two micro-fluidic surfaces (3a, 3b) spaced from each other by a separation distance (H). Two electrical displacement tracks (5a, 5b) are placed at levels of the two micro-fluidic surfaces, respectively. The displacement tracks form fluidic fingers (9a, 9b) under an electric activation effect and are rupturable by under an electric deactivation effect by generating fluid drops. The two tracks are arranged such that the separation distance between the surfaces is greater than fluid thickness formed by the fingers and fluid thickness formed by the drops. An independent claim is also included for a method for handling fluid drops.
