PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell system that fills up a fuel cell with inert gas and prevents entry of oxygen only by the addition of a minimum of devices to devices for use in normal power generation.SOLUTION: A solid oxide fuel cell system 1 of the invention includes: a fuel cell stack 4 that has a fuel electrode 2 and an oxidant electrode 3; a start-up combustor 12 that is provided for starting up the system 1; a combustion gas passage 16 that supplies part of combustion gas, including inert gas emitted from the start-up combustor 12, to the fuel electrode 2; and a combustion gas container 17 that is disposed on the combustion gas passage 16 and houses combustion gas. When the system 1 is started, combustion gas emitted from the start-up combustor 12 is housed in the combustion gas container 17. When the system 1 is stopped, the combustion gas housed in the combustion gas container 17 is filled into the fuel electrode 2. |
