PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader in which a document placed on a contact glass detects deviation by the wind pressure of a document paper feeding section that closes the contact glass.SOLUTION: The image reader includes a contact glass 5B on which a document is placed, a document paper feeding section 4 which can open/close the contact glass 5B by rotating for the contact glass 5B, and presses the document against the contact glass 5B in closed state, a reading section for reading the document placed on the contact glass 5B, sensors 18, 19 for detecting the rotation position of the document paper feeding section 4, and a CPU for making the reading section read the document placed on the contact glass 5B at different rotation positions detected by the sensors 18, 19 until the opened document paper feeding section 4 is closed and the document is pressed against the contact glass 5B, and detecting positional deviation of the document from the images read at different rotation positions. |
