A stand is provided for music cassettes (MCs) or compact discs (CDs). This enables an alphabetic sorting of the individual CDs or MCs at each required point in time. The stand consists of discrete small frames for retaining the CDs or the MCs, and which can be locked onto a base element. A sorting process can be conducted between already pre-sorted CDs or MCs.
