<p>The invention relates to a method for diagnosis and/or prognosis of diabetes, comprising the steps of a) analyzing in a sample of a subject the expression level or status of the gene HMGA2 wherein, b) if HMGA2 shows an elevated expression equal to or above a cut-off value when compared to a control, c) the subject is classified as a subject with diabetes or the subject is classified as a subject with poor prognosis or the subject is classified as a subject being at an elevated risk of becoming diabetic.</p> |
