<p>The present invention relates to a packaging machine for producing containers for pourable food products by sealing and cutting a continuous tubular packaging material web (15) between consecutive packages. The machine comprises at least one pair of cooperating sealing jaws (10), which are pressed together to form a sealing in the packaging material web. The jaws are operable to move along said tubular web and to clamp it synchronously with the feeding of the material web. In order to facilitate design correction, the machine comprises means (25, 27) for detecting the position of the material web and for comparing the material web position with the position of the sealing jaws (10). Also, there are means (16, 18, 24) for controlling the in-movement of the sealing jaws with respect to the longitudinally-sealed liquid-filled packaging material tube (15). In this way, more or less of the tube is drawn in by the sealing jaws, past the point of sealing.</p> |
