The payment method using a coupon for charging a prepaid card stored in a mobile terminal comprises the steps of: the mobile terminal proceeding with a first payment through communication with a server for purchasing a coupon for charging a prepaid card, and receiving and storing the coupon for the prepaid card corresponding to the paid amount of the first payment; the mobile terminal receiving a utilization plan of the coupon for the prepaid card; the mobile terminal converting the coupon for the prepaid card into first identification information to include value information of the coupon for charging the prepaid card when the coupon for charging the prepaid card is selected to be utilized for purposes other than to charge the prepaid card; the mobile terminal displaying the first identification information on a screen or storing the first identification information to make the first identification information be read by a reading terminal; and the mobile terminal processing a second payment by the coupon for charging, through communication with the server. As a result, the coupon for charging the prepaid card can be universally utilized. Also, user convenience and transferability are increased by converting the coupon for charging the prepaid card into separate identification information. Moreover, when using the converted identification information, there is no need to bring a mobile terminal or an IC chip as payment can be proceeded without a user identification module within the mobile terminal.
