A method for manufacturing a heat exchanger (20) provided with a plurality of plate-shaped fins (2) layered at a predetermined pitch, and a plurality of flat heat-transfer tubes (1) passing through the plate-shaped fins (2) along the layering direction, the flat heat-transfer tubes (1) being disposed at a predetermined interval along the longitudinal direction of the plate-shaped fins (2), the plurality of plate-shaped fins (2) having at the longitudinal-direction end a plurality of notches (4) formed in a shape corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the flat heat-transfer tubes (1), and the flat heat-transfer tubes (1) being inserted in the notches (4); wherein the plurality of flat heat-transfer tubes (1) are disposed at a predetermined interval, and inserted in the notches (4) of the plate-shaped fins (2), and each of the plate-shaped fins (2) is attached to a plurality of the flat heat-transfer tubes (1).
