HONEYCOMB CONSTRUCTION AND COATING MATERIAL TO BE USED THEREIN

It is intended to obtain a honeycomb structure having an equivalent performance as ceramic fibers where possible influences on the human body should be considered in the case that a particle diameter, a composition, and an existence form satisfy conditions within fixed values. It is also intended to provide a coating material usable as a substitute for ceramic fibers as a coating material forming the outer peripheral wall of a honeycomb structure. There is provided a honeycomb structure 2 made of ceramic, wherein a coating material constituting an outer peripheral wall 5 of the honeycomb structure 2 contains biosoluble fibers.
