PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device which reduces hitting sounds that occur during running on a bad road by improving spring characteristics of elastic bodies constituting the electric power steering device and which is good in the feeling of steering.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device has a gear mechanism, which includes: a worm 20 rotated and driven by an electric motor; a worm wheel 21, which engages with the worm 20; and elastic bodies 42b and 43b, which elastically support the worm 20 in both directions of the axial direction to a housing 29. In this device, the elastic bodies 42b and 43b, which are compressed in the axial direction of the worm 21, include first compression portions 42d and 43d and second compression portions in the axial direction of the worm 21. The compressive strength of the first compression portions 42d and 43d is made smaller than that of the second compression portions. |
