The invention relates to a tyre inner gum and a process for producing a composition for a tyre inner gum. The tyre inner gum comprises a rubber composition based on one butyl rubber, a reinforcing filler and a plasticizing system characterised in that the composition also includes graphite and the plasticizing system comprises a hydrocarbon plasticizing resin, the glass transition temperature Tof which is above 20°C and the softening point of which is below 170°C. A process for producing such a composition for a tyre inner gum comprising at least one butyl rubber, a reinforcing filler and a plasticizing system characterised in that the composition also includes graphite and the plasticizing system comprises a hydrocarbon plasticizing resin, the glass transition temperature Tof which is above 20°C, comprises the following steps: incorporating into a diene elastomer, in a mixer a reinforcing filler, graphite, and a plasticizing system; thermomechanical mixing all the ingredients, one or more times, until a maximum temperature between 110. and 190°C is reached; cooling the mixture down to a temperature below 100°C; then incorporating a crosslinking system; and mixing everything until a maximum temperature below 110°C is reached. The invention also relates to a tyre comprising an inner gum according to the invention. The technical result is aimed at producing a tyre inner gum having improved gas impermeability properties, improved rolling resistance and endurance properties without this being to the detriment of other properties. |
