<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high-speed authentication by providing a multifunction machine (image forming apparatus) that is likely to be used by a user, with a cache for authentication information, according to entry of the user. <P>SOLUTION: In the multifunction machine, first identification information of the user authorized, an authentication request including the first accepted identification information is transmitted to an authentication server. When the first identification is authenticated by transmitting the authentication request, the first authenticated information is stored in the multifunction machine as authentication information, and second identification information for identifying the user is accepted in order that the user uses the multifunction machine.
