PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically respond to suppression of power consumption when the use situation of power supplied from a power supply source approaches 100%, and to suppression of power consumption when the power use situation of a power receiver using an image processing apparatus approaches 100%.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is holding a power saving control table indicating the correspondence of the usage of power supplied from a power company, and the power saving mode limitation. The image processing apparatus acquires the power use situation information indicating the usage of power supplied from a power company over a network, and sets the power saving mode limitation of a device with reference to the power saving control table. When the power use situation is 99% or more, power is turned off. When it is 98%-99%, the power saving mode is limited to a mode lower than the sleep mode. When it is 95%-98%, the power saving mode is limited to a mode lower than the low power mode. When it is less than 95%, power saving is not limited but normal power saving control is carried out. |
