<p>A method for measuring a persons body using one or more camera images to generate the fitting data for a person uses calibration portion 113 in the image D of a known dimension to provide a scaling and reference calibration means. The calibration portion may be an included object in the picture (fig 6,7) of known size, or clothing with recognisable parts of a known size (fig 5). The measurements are use to form a representation of the person that can be used for determining a persons clothing sizing and fit which may be a 3-D model. This can be used to select suitable clothing for a person, and allow for internet shopping features, such as forming a mannequin image or recommending clothing. The body representation data may also be useful for health or fitness monitoring based on body shape, estimated BMI etc. (figure 13). The method may use a smart-phone having a camera and processor means.</p> |
