<p>A system and method are provided for producing controlled vibrations within a borehole. In one example, the system includes an encoder plate, an anvil plate, and a movement mechanism configured to enable rotational and translational movement of the encoder plate relative to the anvil plate to allow the encoder plate to repeatedly impact the anvil plate to create vibrations. The system also includes a vibration control mechanism configured to control an amplitude of the vibrations.</p> |
