PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling section line recognition apparatus capable of preventing a recognized traveling section line from becoming a shape having irregularity.SOLUTION: A traveling section line recognition apparatus 1 includes: image acquisition means 3 of acquiring an image 105 including a road surface 103 in the periphery of a vehicle 101; image processing means 5 of adding blur to a range including the road surface in the image; and traveling section line recognition means 5 of recognizing a traveling section line 107 from the image in which the blur is added by the image processing means. The image processing means preferably adds, in the image, larger blur to a range 111 of a part of the road surface close to the vehicle than a range 113 of the road surface far away from the part.
