This plate-like body receiving container is provided with a plate-like body placement member on which a plate-like body is placed, a base on which the plate-like body placement member is placed, a movement limiting member which limits the movement of the plate-like body, and a connection mechanism which connects in a removable manner the movement limiting member to a side plate of the plate-like body placement member and which can be advanced and retracted. The connection mechanism has an engagement member having a head section and provided to the movement limiting member and has an advancement/retraction mechanism for advancing and retracting the engagement member relative to the side plate. The side plate is provided with a stepped section and with an opening having a first opening region and a second opening region, which are connected to each other. The width of the second opening region is smaller than the width of the first opening region. The head section can pass through the first opening region and cannot pass through the second opening region. The stepped section limits the movement of the head section from the second opening region to the first opening region.
